Perfumed and musky, you smell the damp blue clay of Pomerol on a wet day, but the smell is fresh and clean (no dead leaves). Then on the palate it's simply a stunner, with fiery mythical red fruits like something from a medieval tapestry, and an absolutely remarkable persistence on the palate, that leaves your tongue and lips vibrating, like after an intense dose of Sechuan pepper oil. Outstanding effort.

With a spicy, black cherry and oak perfume, this medium bodied, soft textured Pomerol is already showing well. Give it another year or two for this chocolaty, plum filled wine to develop further complexities.

Bordeaux 2008 (Bordeaux): Crushed strawberry nose, showing nice fruit as well on the palate with freshness. Showing also pleasing chocolate notes, the palate seems just a bit angular and even hard on the finish, so time in barrel will hopefully smoothen the edges. 88-91
