  • There is no masking that this is an oxydized wine. The nose is popcorn, hazelnuts, with a hint of green apples. The palate echoes the nose, adding notes of maple syrup and great acidity on the finish. This is a wine that could go on for a few more years in the cellar but that drinks beautiful now.

  • The same grape as vin jaune and with a nose of vin jaune though much discussion about port and xérès as well. Notes of ginger and cinnamon. Very well balanced and amazing acidity and long long finish.

  • I am really starting to get into the Jura whites. Beautiful golden-honey color. Huge oxidative nose, but the fruit is there. Really gets going as it warms up (drink closer to room temperature!) and an hour or so into the dinner, the oxidative character takes a back seat to the gorgeous flavors of caramelized pears and ginger, accompanied by strong mineral and acacia notes. Length and complexity get better by the minute. Excellent complement to a memorable dinner at Regalade Saint Honore.

  • This is a fascinating wine. Whereas I'd expected the rosewater offerings of the typical savignin, this was the flor induced version. Quite zippy and more winey than a fino. Good with parma ham.
