Thought this would be more fun, but to the fair this is rather poor. Very ripe fruit on the nose with a bit of maturity. Raisins and vegetable stew. Thin and short on the palate with medium acidity and a medium body.

Gaia and Kir-Yianna Greek Wines and Italian value wines (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): This is not a wine that takes itself very seriously, and it shouldn't be taken too seriously either. It is what it is, and it does deliver in its niche. A nose of sweet red cherry and some other interesting, slightly more complex notes. A very straight forward palette with very little layering and a big fruity hit on the first sip. Dried herbs follow with a chalky tannic finish. This wine sits across too many palette elements and does none of them to a level that will work for a lot of serious drinkers, but if you've had a big day at work, or a big session on the booze, and you just want to keep it simple and bright - this wine could do the trick. A recovery wine? Yes. That's it. That's exactly what this is. A recovery wine that understands where you've been and what you need.

First experience with a Agiorgitiko wine. Don't know if this is representative or not so I'm not throwing a number on the board.
Popped and poured; consumed over 3 hours. Color is medium dark with a bit of translucencecy. Nose is very muted with kind of a weak cranberry / dustiness to it. Taste is bright tart red fruit with a pronounced acid front and finish. Medium tannins in the mid palate.
All in all a pretty forgettable wine and reminds me of an acidic 2 buck / 3 buck Chuck without as much character.

Tasted by awinestory on 5/24/2009 & rated 80 points: sound, clear, medium - intensity, somewhat translucuent, pale violet rim, white watery miniscus, tears fast to form and fall nose: clean, medium pus intensity, strawberry jam, red flowers, green herbs palate: dry, acid is med+, tannin is med- body is med, alc is 13.5, length is med+ finish is of strawberry jam, raspberries, slight chocolate, linzer tart ...
pair with: luncheon salad, roast chicken with pomegranate, some ethnic dishes that use white protrein and fruit
Review: Wine has good balance overall yet the concetration of strawberry jam on the nose and palate deems it more suitable for pairing with a protein (fowl, fish, pork) marinated with fruit. Also, can work as a luncheon wine especially if some sort of fruit or dried fruit is a component of the salad. May be technically dry yet leaves the perception of fruity sweetness.

Walker gets some Greek Wines (Office): Bright fruit. Juicy. Easy going. Nice, but the price doesn't really make it something to seek out. 86-87
