Oregon vs. Burgundy Single Blind (Tilia, Mpls): Medium red color, a bit cloudy. Followed 1 glass over 2 hours. This was the same bottle as Chablis28. I would largely concur with his assessment. The nose was VA and not at all pleasant for quite some time. The palate was a bit better initially, but not anything you really wanted to drink. Patience did reward a bit, as the nose ultimately blew off the ugliness and showed some red fruit, though it was still modest. The palate also came around to the point where this was pretty decent.

A bit past its prime but with tons of air, still semi interesting on the palate. Do NOT sit on these, drink up. This started out very funky. Especially on the nose. So much so that most of us bailed in the interest of our liver. Oddly this came around 2 hours plus later. The F'd up nose closed down but the palate resolved showing some mushroomy, meaty, cinnamon, red fruit that was worth drinking a small last pour. Far from awesome but some last minute redemptions last, hours alter. Drink up and don't buy any unless they're selling for sub $25. Note to self, stay away from most '93s as they're likely past prime.

Wednesday Night WTDS (Corner Table, Mpls): Medium dark red color with a 4mm bricked edge. PNP, followed 1 glass for over an hour. This was reduced, vegetal, dried herbs, red fruit.

Some at the dinner felt it was flawed in some respect or another. I didn't notice anything off putting to me. This just didn't rock me tonight as hoped for. Some interesting raspberry and spice on the fullish palate.

Bummer, lots of VA. Too bad because I think this could have been wine of the night otherwise. We did a blind tasting and I was counting on this blowing us away. Glad I brought my Hubert Liger Bourgogne too.
