Popped and poured. Nose was first red and vanilla and then cherries and orange peel. Started with red fruits and forest floor. Developed notes of spice and savory and finally buttery and caramel notes. Starts a bit brisk and showing plenty of life, at 10 yrs it has years ahead. Became silken mouth feel at about an hour in. Probably a bit more oak than I normally like (but then this is RRV where oak gets a bit carried away sometimes), but this is simply delightful and a great example of this style.

Wine Flock California Pinot Noir 2001-2008 (Dennis' Place on Erie): Gorgeous ripe nose. Light ruby red coloring. 14.1% alcohol. Cranberry, light cherry. Touch of blood orange. Floral components show nice rose petals and a touch of enjoyable heat. More aromatics of butterscotch and caramel, soy sauce and cabbage stew There is a feminine palate with some nice grip and tannin structure. Young good tannins, acidity and balance. Not heat on the finish. This is a Pinot made to age believe it or not.

Popped and poured. Medium-bodied wine that is clear ruby in color. On the nose, dark berry fruits and allspice. On the palate, glycerine-heavy cherries and raspberries. Well-balanced with a great, lightly sweet finish lasting almost 30 seconds.
