Very nice. Nose of cola, dark cherry, rose petal and a moderate earthiness. Though tight at first, this wine rounded out over a couple of hours to reveal a dense, silky mouthful of red fruit with a little spice. Just a little better than the Rochioli Estate Pinot from the same vintage.

Decanted and poured. Medium-bodied wine that is medium to dark ruby in color. On the nose, cherries, raspberries, and light spice. On the palate, smooth dark cherry liqeuer with a touch of vanilla on the very long 30-40 second finish. Excellently balanced and utterly silky in mouthfeel, just as in past vintages. If this wine continues to open up further, it could easily add a point for me. Love this stuff!

Guess and Rank the Red Blindtasting (Janis and Mark's home, Kenwood, California): Olive and burnt toast nose; yummy sweet plum, cherry palate; medium finish (with three number 1 scores and one number 3, mine, this was our winner of the evening)
