Even better than the last time I had it 18 months ago, and still with at least a couple of years to go (with luck or the cork gods on your side.) Light, lacy, delicate - but with long, persistent, mature-Pinot flavours. Sublime. With L'Ami du Chambertin cheese. 13%.

Most Bouree reds I've tried have a very distinctive vegetal nose vying with the fruit: cabbage, some say. Not entirely unpleasant, but takes a bit of getting used to. This one, however, is straight into the fruit: an hour after opening, sour cherries with a balsamic edge; the wine fairly lean, or delicate, to be kind. Now, after 24 hours open, it is much bigger and smoother and fuller (have found this improvement before with Bouree.) Light in colour, translucent, but surprisingly persistent. All in all, a fascinating and delicious wine.

Delightful, archetypal Gevrey, liquid, nice nuanced meatiness, great 01 balance and acid, drinking very well now, but good for more. A slight suggestion of corkiness but I don't think it was.

Cherry and strawberry cordial nose, fairly light bodied, gamey and earthy on the palate, winds down to a savoury and grippy finish; drink soon.
