Very nice nuanced, but big, nose of blackberry, sous-bois, and spice. The wood is there, although integrating nicely, with nice open palate and a long finish. The balance is very good and the tannins still in force with a velvety aspect. This still feels fresh and could go on for some time. Perhaps another 20 years.

Deep red and blue dark fruit. Initially a little old world funk that cleans up to reveal more sous bois notes. Good power with expressive notes of iron and dust. More about old school Gevrey power and rusticity yet fairly smooth and integrated, but still plenty of tension, chewy and with solid acidity. Paired well with some grilled sirloin and with time more mineral dry notes become apparent on the finish. At 20 years of age this is mature and tasty. I did no decant this & liked it best in the window between 30 -90 minutes from opening.

Very New World, with super ripe and forward fruit, and feels like it has seen its best days. Not a poor wine, just not as balanced as I would like, and would prefer a few versions of pinot from California over this. I would be drinking up. Sediment suggests a decant. B

I like this - super feral with a deep and meaty nose that is packed with potential. Still quite firm and rigid and just starting to develop. Over time this changed quite a lot in the glass, becoming firmer and drier as the night went on. Years ahead of this.
