Deep and dense full ruby. Dark red fruit with a nicely earthy depth. Positive attack, quite rich, finely velvet with good density. Tannins largely integrated and powdery, nicely integrated with good acidity giving the sense of structure towards the finish with excellent density for a village wine. This is really quite decent. ***1/2

Ruby, marked browning to rim. Very earthy, some dark berries, smoke, undergrowth. Savoury. Smooth but still some noticeable tannins. Lovely complexity. Good length. Enjoyable.

1/1, good cork. Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Developed, attractive, very Gevrey nose - meat, autumnal mulch, touch of smoke. Medium/full bodied, no shrinking violet this, with rich, mulchy, meaty dark fruit, resolved tannins, nice contrasting fresh, savoury acidity, good length finish with a touch of liquorice. Excellent, certainly ready but no signs of imminent decline.

Beautiful. A poorly stored bottle that delivered perfectly. Full and deep, certainly in the riper, more extracted style. But such perfect harmony, tannins melded away, lovely sous bois. Long. Not at all drying on the finish. Some say 99s need more time, but not this one. Although I think well stored bottles of this could go another decade easily. 18
