Heard a lot about the legend that is '90 Jadot and lucky to have experienced a bottle in good condition. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it - got notes of coffee and tobacco that was almost bordeaux like, but the difference was an undertone of freshness and zip of fruit beneath the tertiary notes. The palate was stellar, everything well integrated with a long finish. After a while got some barnyard funk and so I set it aside. After another bit the funk blew away, profile lifted a bit and palate finished on the sweeter side. This was my WOTN among equally old Vogue's, Drouhins, and some young Roumier BM. If you have this in good shape I really don't see why you shouldn't enjoy it now

Chez Winefool Goodbye Dinner (Chicago, IL): 88/90/97 flight. An outstanding vintage at Jadot and for the Bonnes Mares. So much concentration and so much nuance. Playful and serious at once. In the middle of a peak window, that should last for some time.

The End of Winefoolishness in Chicago (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Fully composed black cherry and berry with meaty spice, faint mushroom, and lots of power. Very Gevrey in all its possible glory. As good as my previous time tasted (earlier this year), even though from a different source.

Annual Jadot (plus Dau) with Frederic Barnier (RPM Steak): 85/88/90 blind. A brilliant bottle, and entirely consistent with my love for 1990 Jadot. So youthfully rich, plump and concentrated. Primary black cherry shows off but makes plenty of room for spice and earthen complexity. Long, powerful finish is breathtaking.

Louis Jadot (& Clair-Daü) Dinner with Frédéric Barnier (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Blind in vertical. Black and red cherry with spice, faint mushroom, leather and rare beef. Ripe and dense but layered and complex at the same time. Best ever for this wine.
