Incredible pale yellow colour for 23 year old wine. Obvious kerosene on the nose. Plenty of citrus fruit and acidity still in balance. A joy for such a graceful aged wine. I think there’s time left too.

This and the 02 were under cork and there was a noticeable difference between the 2 styles, with the younger wines still quite primary and dominated by lemon and lime.
This looked to be a bit past it on opening, with a pongy nose. It opened up though with air and turned into a lovely ally wine, with creamy stone fruit and rounded acidity. Nothing like I was expecting. Good, but the 01 was similar and better. 3.5*

Colour was light golden, not quite fully gold with only a small amount of aging visible. The screwcap definitely assists in keeping out the oxygen. The screwcap version looks so much younger than the equivalent cork sealed bottle of this. Initial opening had a bit of kerosene on the nose that my wife noticed more than I did. I noticed more some honeyed citrus/honey lemon and a little bit of toastiness as well due to the age. Some noticeable alcohol is there too. There are also some white florals happening with some swirling. Taste had some more honey lemon but not sweet, with the acid still there. It definitely has both primary and secondary characteristics. Bottle age is obviously there but the screwcap keeping in the freshness of everything still. Finish was medium plus and this can still go in this format for years judging what state it's in currently. I'll enjoy watching its slow evolution.

Screwcap, 12/5% alc. Shimmering transparent yellow. Quite pale and clear a 13 year old Clare Riesling; much more convincing than the 03 Peter Lehmann Wigan consumed recently. Fairly non-descript aromas of lime, tropical fruit and bread. A slight green edge. Huge acid and a flat flavour of bruised limes, melon, and lightly toasted bread. Spreads across the palate with some honey at the end.
Opinion: Looking a bit disjointed with acid dominating the palate without expressive fruit to balance. Best to drink-up or hope that it builds further in bottle. Despite youthful colour, it appears to be heading towards a sherried flavour.

Past it's best. Very deep golden colour, too sweet and lacks acidity.
