This 1990 Brusset Gigondas just continues to surprise and impress! Bought 5-6 of these as bin-end bottles at my local shop @ 6-8 years ago, and I think every bottle has been great so far. It still tastes as thought it’s on its plateau, not in decline. Special, and perfect with Thanksgiving dinner.

Blown away by this! About five years ago I picked up 4 bottles of this for $9.95 each in a wine shop’s bargain bin (the labels were all torn, stained, and/or loose). First bottle a few years ago was in pristine condition - drunk during a family holiday dinner and I didn’t take notes. Frozen pizza for dinner tonight and I thought I’d spruce it up with this. Cork was entirely soaked through, though it came out easily using a Durand. At first pour, I could tell it seemed to be in decent shape - deep purple/ no bricking. And the nose, even right after opening (no decant) was full of vibrant berry fruit. Delicious on the palate too, this actually reminded me some of an aged but concentrated pinot noir. The only downside was a somewhat short finish, though that could be because the usual Rhone smack of tannin and acidity on the finish was largely toned down.

Dark berry, herbs and earth flavors, but not as rich and round as RP describes. Still, very good bottle, especially when paired with roast leg of lamb in provencal herbs!

1990-2010 Domaine Brusset Gigondas (Tasted Blind) (Rich and Peggy's House, Los Altos, California): Brown of the edges. Generous nose which opened up after about 1 hr in the glass. Somewhat soft palate. Tasted blind.
My 6th. Group's 2nd.
