Took 30 mins to open up. Tremendously complex with herbs, spice, mint, earth, metal, berries, and sweet red fruit. Palate has some charming tertiary note of rose, tar and prune fruit without being old. Full of power and complexity. There is still a good amount of acidity to make the wine very interesting. Lots of good underlying substance to build up its complexity and layers. This is probably the best la romanee I have ever had. Very good. 94+

Advanced, murky character, and generally lacking expression despite good color in bottle.
