Coffee, Liquered black cherry, bitter espresso and mocha. High acid. It’s awkward and intense. But not boring. The bitterness makes it hard to enjoy on its own

This is effectively the Bricco dell’uccellone but the grapes are left to hang longer on the vines for a riper feel. And indeed the richer , denser dark fruits, dark macerated cherries are there but in check and in balance. Round wine , silkybtannin and in a great time to be enjoyed. Has a richness for sure but this is no monster or a badly made modern endeavour to please Parker . Solid 91-92

One of my many guilty pleasures: aged Barbera... Black cherry core, creamy oak, tertiairy funk is starting to develop, revitalizing acidity, it all adds up to a long and resounding finish, underlined by masculine but not obtrusive tannines.

(Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera d'Asti Ai Suma) Roasted tomato and smoke nose; very tart, tomatoey red fruit palate with focus, sweet edges and good acidity; medium finish

Rich and still young with soft tannins. This will last quite a while

Mistake to take this as a pop and pour! I reckon it needs at least a 6 hour decant. Very good though.
