Wine with Steak and Morels (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Ken served this blind to us tonight using his Coravin, almost one year after serving the same bottle blind at another tasting. While it had a lot of sediment last year, this time it really dominated the wine (at least my pour) giving an overall very tired and muddy character.
Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Served blind by Ken using his fancy new Coravin. My pour had lots of sediment, making it a little tough to assess, but I think all pours were sediment-rich as well. Tart black fruit aromas, a bit of forest floor and some subtle baking spice. More earthy flavors, this was more interesting than pleasurable.

Coravin at KB: Drinking impressively and a real treat. Bottle was sound and drinking like classic old Bordeaux, mushroom, black spice, and sweet cinnamon aromas. Nice mouthfeel and weight. Good spices and dried black fruit character. Fully resolved and on the late holes of the back nice, but still holding and quite enjoyable. Not spectacular until one considers the age, However, gave lots of pleasure.
