  • decanted at 4pm (double decant back to bottle as travelling), poured into jug only 30mins before we started drinking, so not much time to air/relax. Initial decant show minimum sediment, but fine reside evident.
At drinking (with slow roast pork belly):
colour shows good clarity, with little signs of age (rim showing as body) bright mid red, but light colouring rather than opaque and thick.
nose shows cherry and ripe red fruits, very pleasant.
drinking was wonderful, with soft and smoth red fruits and balanced tanins, enough acidity to cope with the pork, but would be fine with lesser foods, red current with a hint of vanilla and secondary hint of forest floor/earthy/farm yard that you'd expect from Bordeaux. but very subtle. fruit flavours dominate in a subdued way.
finish is medium length but very pleasant with good mouth feel and slight but essential acidity, very delicate and lovely.
right now drinking beatifully, has potential for a few more years, but the subltle fresh fruits still very dominant and in a few years these will be much lesser or lost.
