This is a stunning wine. It may have been the goldkapsel (two white stripes on the neck). Apricot, peach, mango, pineapple, viscous texture, honey, fresh wax, incredible length and power. What a stunning wine. This should be perfect in 10-15 years if it develops well! Paired perfect with foie gras, eel and apple terrine.

Mini Grapemates Christmas Party 2021: AP #18. Apricot, orange, coconut, mango and quince on the nose. Palate is mouthcoating, intense with dense, round fruit and just enough punchy acidity to keep up. Long and delicious. A powerhouse.

Haven’t had many wines from this Pradikat level but man were we floored. Incredible length, wonderful balance of fresh tropical fruits and more honeyed, quince, wax notes. Still developing for sure. Drank over two days and on day two was still perfect. Only wish we had more!

(JJ Prum B-B BA) JJ Prum Dear Friends, I was invited to a wonderful dinner in Strasbourg this past week and (to my surprise) the dessert offering was not an Alsatian VT or SGN - it was this wine. After all the impeccable wine (from north and south of Colmar) I enjoyed that night, this wine stole a piece of my heart that I was glad to give. This wine palpitates as it glides over the palate with noticeable energy and force - you consciously feel the energy it conveys before, during and after each sip. I cannot stress enough how wonderful this example is and it's further evidence to the greatness of 2006 as one of the finest high-pradikat vintages since 1959 (those are the words of the Mosel vintners - read Herr Prum's comments below, but I also agree). If you are collecting 2007 German wine and have skipped 2006 in the Mosel, that would be a shame for the dessert wines - the 2007's are in no way the equal of 2006 (for Kabinett and Spatlese, 2007 is certainly superior but not for Auslese and above). If I recall, Johannes Selbach believes 2006 is the finest dessert-level vintage since the 1940's (beyond 1971, 1975 and 1976). This wine has so much pent up material that it may last for 30-50 years. It was made in miniscule quantities and only a few dozen cases in total came to the US (cases of 3 bottles each). A wonderful cellar candidate if you have a 2006 birth year and it should prove to be quite collectable in the decades to come: VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for outstanding depth of flavor, ageing potential and typicity in a top vintage for BA and TBA: 2006 JJ Prum Bernkasteler-Badstube Riesling Beerenauslese 375ml EXTREMELY LIMITED It will ship during the spring shipping season. Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ8730

Rubber and lift aromatics. Viscous honey syrup palate but never cloying.

certainly rich and complex but lacks acidity to balance the sweetness - no rush at all but it will be interesting to see where it goes from here
