1) This is not an 88 point wine. The quality of the winemaking, complexity, and overall experience brings this higher. 2) 2008 vintage is underrated. Clearly it's not great, but it's proving to be a better-than-expected year 3) Fourrier is still too expensive. Lots of smokey red fruits, acid, balance, and a great mid-palate, but for $90 there are better values available today

Popped and poured - I was expecting this to be way too young but thought I'd give it a spin in the name of science. It is after all a Fourrier, so how bad could it be?!?!?
Very surprising, red fruit, spices - cinnamon and ginger/almost Vosne. Red fruit and spice on the palate, with perfect balance. Although young, this is really nice, especially for a village.

Inward and backwards, overly tart. Little complexity and a soapy cranberry color relegate this straight to the discount bin...exactly where I bought it. Disappointing effort from Jean Marie.

Needed decanting for a few hours to open up, but man when it did. Very impressive wine with a slight bitterness to the fruit and then a big dose of 'dirt' in the good way. The soil mark is pronounced. Very precise and pure. Delightful.

Intense red fruit flavour. Smoky, meaty, savoury and very spice.
