  • Light red/ruby colour with some hints of amber at the rim. Full cherry and black fruit aromas with hints of leather that keep on evolving. Following trough medium bodied and very smooth with refined tannins. A medium long, fresh, finish. Wonderfully balanced. After having tasted several Brunelli from the same vintage I would say that this is one of the best Brunelli(!) of 2002...... Putting all the fruit in the Rosso was a wise decision of mr. Palmucci.
This wine is still very lively. But it is so delicate and balanced that I would not wait to long to drink it. To bad that I have only 1 bottle left.
    Drink now - 2010.

  • Brought over by LH. Opened not decanted. Stinky nose that shows tight fruit. After awhile: earthy with coffee, dried red fruit with touches of smoke. This really changed over a short period of time. An overall muscular wine with red cherry notes. Very enjoyable. Good.

  • Same pretty nose as previous bottles. This one was slightly less balanced on the palate. Still good fruit tones and very refined tanines. And a long finish.
    Drink now.

  • What a wonderful wine! Guess this is what you can get out of a Rosso in a poor vintage when all the Brunello fruit goes into the Rosso. Started off with a bit of mustiness, which blew off fairly quickly; then the wine really takes off. Over the course of two hours it shows lovely red fruit on both the nose and palate. The acidity is refreshing, the tannins in check. The nose really blossoms to reveal floral notes, spices, and just a hint of leather; and the palate likewise develops a wide range of red fruits; quite complex. A revelation, and much nicer than I expected.
