Deep opaque purple to black core color. Purple rim, excellent color saturation. A pretty bouquet of Syrah right up front. Graham cracker, fresh violets, dark cherry, and ember pronounced on the nose. On the palette, the wine behaves very elegantly. This is not your ball buster style of Syrah. Vinous, pure grape fruit loaded with the same black cherry, black currant, plum skin, and a touch of blueberry. Tannins are smooth and not chunky, they are very fine. Wine puts weight with air and concentrates well. The finish is round and linear. You can easily drink the whole bottle its that smooth. The oak is very well in check and well balanced. A very solid effort from a solid producer. Contrasted with Novelty Hill, the Januik is the pretty girl in the Velvet dress, while the Novelty Hill is the curvy seductress of the two.

Dark nose of loose leaf tobacco, blackberries, and blueberry pie. Dense, heavy blackberries. Sappy; maple notes. Tobacco on the finish. Addictive.

Med body, aromatic, mild smoke and ink nose, balanced floor and subtle finish. Very good wine.

Wonderfully pure syrah on the aromatics. Deep dark fruits and a bit of the syrah wildness and bramble.
