Sommelier Journal

(Ferrer Bobet, Priorat) One of the reasons I love this wine is that it contains an unusually high percentage of Carignan (61%), blended with Grenache and a tiny bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. A moderately dark garnet in the glass, it smells of rich, sweet plum jam mixed with mulberry and cassis. On the palate, blueberry and cassis flavors vie for attention with woodier chocolate notes, while juicy acidity and faintly chalky tannins embrace the fruity core. A light woody quality emerges on the finish. Excellent acidity and great flavors. 14.8% alcohol. Hot Picks
