Med ruby core with slight browning at the rims. Nose is mesmerizing, showing the classic tar and roses along with dark raspberries and bright tart black cherries. Has a depth of intensity with the tannins starting to mellow, but still not nearly resolved as I would like. Another 3-5 years would place this into a perfect spot, but it was already an amazing wine today that shows its potential to be even more perfect. Predominantly dark and tart fruit with some earth and sois bois, leather and dried fruit also coming into the foreground. 94 today, 95-96 with a little more time. Fine to open today with a little air.

There was some heat on this bottle , however it blew off after a couple hours. It smells like a perfume bomb ready to explode. You can catch the tertiary elements on the back end of the pallet. I find this both intriguing but also suspect to an old switch’a’roo of “I’m great…. just kidding, I’m a hot flabby mess”. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I have faith in this bottle

Drank with second Saturday group at Asti - WOTN. Starting to hit its drinking window. No formal notes. Delicious. Other bottles can go another 10 - at least, and would benefit from more cellaring.

Softened after 3-4 hrs of air, a little rough before that. Wonderful elegance with a silky mouthfeel. Excelled with food.
