On opening, zesty acidity and impulsive aromatics say "dont drink 'til I settle down." Settled after about 30mins, fruit still vital under a piercing misty sweet alcohol robe. Viscous & yet full-bodied w/ still-present underlying tannins. Continues to drink well, w/ steak, over 3 days. Unexpected excellent condition; stored at 56F since purchase on release.

Quite a bit better than the '95, and really trying out of curiosity. This held its own with some of the new release Zins. Nice and brambly with a large dose of spices. Jammy red berry fruits and dried cranberries made up the fruit component. Held a slight dried herb tone too. Even still had some tannin structure towards the finish. Well made and gave a great drinking experience.

Glorious. No expectation when opened, but it perfect shape. No browning, no unpleasant odor, just pure delicious sweet Zin-dominated fruit and an elegant, sophisticated mouthfeel. Pity it was the only bottle I have!

EOTC Holiday "Bring Your Favorite" night (My place): Clearly an old zin - must be Paul's. Unfortunately I was too lit at this point to take notes.

Smooth red that belies its high alcoholic nature (14.5%). Drank with "Sunday Gravy" over pasta. Has almost a port wine finish.
