2 hour decant. Fruit present, but not bold. Rounded with some pepper and spice. Longer finish than expected. Enjoyable and well made. Fully integrated, at peak but not fading. Drink now and over next 2-3 years.

(Betz Family Winery La Serenne Syrah Yakima Valley) True to form, this is the most reticent of the new releases, full of mineral, earth, dark fruit, and smoked meat. The palate is plush and seamless, drawing out to a long finish. Give time in the cellar to show its finest. 100% Syrah. Boushey Vineyard. Aged 12 months in French oak (50% new). 14.8% alcohol.

This was more subtle than vibrant. Muted fruits with a smooth soft finish.

Very nice, restrained Syrah.
Some dark fruit but predominantly earth and mineral. Altogether a bit muted but very well balanced with significant acidity.
Definitely still alive but assume this won’t improve further.
