  • Yummy delicious. Decanted for about 3 hours and served with Manchego and salumi. Even with food and a decant, I was pleasantly surprised how well this is drinking right now given it's only 5 years old. Aged in 20% new oak and 80% used, the oak signature is quite light at this point. Lots of pepper on the nose, typical of Syrah, and blueberries and baking spice on the palate. 80% stem inclusion on this apparently, which might account for some of the spice. Medium-full bodied, this is made in an elegant style. As well as it's drinking now, I think this could age 5 to 10 years pretty comfortably.

  • This La Serenne didn't wow me as much as it usually does. Still a very good wine, however. Deep purple, smoke, loads of spices, black cherries, espresso beans, hints of fennel and scratchy tannins. A long, long finish. 92-94 point potential.
