Second time tried and still don't care for it. Stewed tomatoes and pruney nose. Tannins are present too, which doesn't help the fruit show. Develops a bitter tea component as it opens.

On the nose, I get raspberries and a sweet woodsy smell. On the palate, I get bing cherries, followed by a soft, sweet woodsy flavor, ending with soft tannins. A simple but, enjoyable wine.

Not bad, in fact surprisingly good given it's age. lots of dark fruit, a little acid and a decent finish.

Dark; herby, earthy but with plenty of chunky fruit; smooth, full, a bit hot on finish but not over extracted. 14

Enjoyed this with barbeque ribs and also had a 2001 Pedroncelli PS. Good tannins.
