Blackberry and ripe plum on the nose. Surprisingly medium-full body with powerful fruit and density; similar to a CdP. Medium-firm tannins. Finishes long. Worth double than the $20 list.

2008 Southern Rhone Reds (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): 60% grenache, 30% syrah and 10% carignan. super fruity nose if licorice rope and cherry pie filling. tannic and grippy on the palate. this is a big wine. it's ok now, but i'd hold onto it for a year or two to see if it opens up a bit more.
