He liked the succulent texture and called it one of the more complete wines of the tasting. I really liked this wine and second favorite was a toss up for me between this and the Keller. I thought the nose was subtle and harmonious, and I liked the hints of baking spice and earth. The off-dry palate was nicely balanced with good acidity and there was a lovely bitter pit finish. Stephen liked the fresh nose, the sweet palate and thought it was a well put together wine, but found it to be unidimensional. Rubén liked it initially, but going back to it he found it a bit mute and without complexity. There were leftovers of every wine except for Willi Schaefer's, and this one improved a lot on day 2, by the way.

  Mosel all the way. Green Granny Smith apples, some mineral and some acid. Second day a little apple-juicy. Still decent juice and a nice finish. I like more bitter/sweet/acid if I could. I am trying to say it's just a little off on the yummy factor for me... but I have no problem drinking the wine.

  Delicious, effusive ripe grapefruit aromatics splashed with apple and peach juice and topped with carmelized sugar. Pale gold color in the glass with a bit of spritz. Medium body weight that seems to come mostly from the residual sugar since its only 10.5% ABV. Crisp acidity and a medium long finish. I don't really know riesling well enough to say how it stacks up, but it is, at least, delicious and fun to drink.
