  • Bought a case of this wine 25 years ago upon arrival for $ 25 a bottle. I immediately liked it when it first arrived on the market. An excellent year for Château Lynch-Moussas. Plum and cassis jam, some smoke, overall very well balanced. Medium body. Nice, juicy finish. Overachiever!

  • Fyldig, god lengde, men tåler et par/noen år til. Aroma av eik/treverk, mørk og tørket frukt, kryddernoter, hint av lær

  • The cork at the top had quite a bit of stain on top but fortunately the wine seemed intact. Without a proper decant, the wine had an odd pungency but not quite in the way as described by others. Not entirely off putting, but not something you would serve to guests or those who are not knowledgeable pop and pour. Gently pouring it into a decanter for about 30 to 45 minutes really helped, and there you will get more sweet soy sauce, hoisin, and a bit of mushroom aromas, along with the signature aged Cabernet aromas. It is in a good drinking spot right now. With the right food you can elevate the enjoyment of this wine even further.

  • Browning, with amber at the rim. This is showing some brett, but I still like it as it is not overpowering. That aside, red fruits in the nose, with black and red fruit that begins to show lots of cassis in the finish. This is not your classic Bordeaux, but even with its warts, it is enjoyable, especially for a quarter-century old wine. 4-11-16-7: 88/100.

  • Perfect fill, cork satires about 1/3 through. An interesting bottle, with many lovely qualities, and a couple of obvious flaws. The nose is quite tertiary, soy, leather and pipe tobacco, more than a touch of acetone, and only faint wisps of black fruit. The palate is surprisingly rich with lush black fruit, leather, and again that hit of VA, along with a green astringency towards the back palate. When that disappears, there’s a long resonant finish of cassis. As is, it’s borderline flawed, but without the VA and astringency, this would easily be a 93+ bottle.
