Bordeaux GCC 2019 horizontal tasting, wine #4. An anniversary vintage celebrating 100 years under the Casteja family. 5th growth, made from a blend of 73% CS and 27% Merlot. Average age of vines 40 years, fermented in stainless vats, aged for 18 months in oak, 50% new. Intense aroma of cassis, tobacco, earth, pencil shavings, cherries, smoke, violets, cedar, spices. Medium+ body, intense and rich with fleshy black fruit flavours, smoky and earthy notes, concluding with medium+ fine tannins and lengthy finish.

Black fruit, nice oak frame not blocking anything, some pyrazine notes adding freshness.
Palate showing juicy tannins, big bold tannins, black fresh fruit, extreme alcohol heat though, smoke, chocolate, sweet spice notes, full body, long finish

One of best wines I've had in recent batch. Layers and layers of goodness. Multi layered integrated tannins--cherry,sweet raspberry dark fruit
