  • EYE: perfect closure, a little dry. High-chroma brick and plum liquid. A late winter mothlet tried to give its life for a drink, but I saved him. Go forth, little buddy! (One must weigh the endorsements of bugs.) NOSE: bold forms patiently draped with dried berries. Earl grey tea, licorice, espresso, a drop of molasses. MOUTH: after 48 hours it's a bit more forthcoming. Dark coffee. Dried, leafy twigs. Tapenade. Plain, ripe, dark fruit colors. Well preserved. Just past peak. Perfectly drinkable with country food.

  • This one has a lovely full meaty-earthy smell that I just love in the wines from the Languedoc. However I don’t feel that the quality on the nose translated into the flavour. At first there was a medicinal edge to the flavour but this blew off. On the finish there were some really smooth, slightly spicy tannins that showed good grip with air. It was good but nothing exceptional at the price.
