  • After back-to-back oxidized 2012 Clos de Maltroie...
Medium yellow color that deepens in the glass over the course of 90 minutes. Nose of slightly honeyed citrus, hay, and grilled pineapple. Palate has lemon and lime curd notes with butterscotch, pineapple, a hint of quince, and some honeysuckle notes that emerge on a medium-long finish. Drinking at peak enjoyment for me and probably not too much longer before oxidation sets in and drives this toward the nutty end of the spectrum. Drink.

  • During a Burg dinner. Nose of citrus and subtle oak. Nice and racy, palate good volume and freshness. Very solid.

  • Double blind. Light yellow color. Notes of pear, lemon and white peach with a terrific underlying stony note. Develops a subtle wooly quality underneath. Citrusy tones dominate the palate. Guessed Chassagne, but younger.

  • With only 6 hectares of vines and an apparent huge following in the USA, we learned in advance this Domaine's supply is tiny and we were lucky to try. Nice straw-gold-yellow presentation on the eye. We think she has fully, if not nearly, blossomed. Pleasant to make your acquaintance, M'am ;-). A bouquet of ripe, fresh citrus and a somewhat vivacious presentation belies her age. Wow, interesting! Palate creamy citrus and pleasantly smooth with just a hint of tartness and little toasty-oak. A lot going on in the palate. Long finish. We think we caught her at a very good time, albeit we could see enjoying another date on or before 2020.

  • At La Cuisine restaurant in Paris, Nice yellow color, floral nose, the palate was melon, guava, pear, a touch of citrus, and just enough oak to give it a beautiful lush feel to a long finish
