  • Beautiful nose. Sweet strawberry fruit, tomatoes Umami. With some guts. Sexy and exotic with that nutty marzipan goodness. Rich and sweet. And dark and deep. Good grip some smooth tannins still. Earth and blood. Iron. Dirt. Very good long umami dark. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.

  • The nose cries Vaucrains, with its black fruit and chalky aromas, and attractive secondary notes of damp leaves and mushrooms. A rather sweet and expansive mouth follows, with lots of energy, ending with the typical Premeaux chalky flavors of south NSG, which is martial and vertical, balancing the sweetness in a complex manner, wrapped by round and domesticated tannins, and a lingering and fresh finish. The depth of flavors is really attractive. The wine is at its plateau now, but could go on for another decade easily and maybe more...This is impressive, and again Chevillon Vaucrains is a superb wine, delivering year after year much more than another 1er cru...."Vaucrain" or vaux rien, means litterally worth nothing...so in that place, the fiery people of NSG have turned curse into a blessing...I admire that labor of love !

  • Before MCO 3: I'm gonna be honest and I totally got this wrong too, guess it was another good vintage of Italian. Still very youthful, full of primary fruits, sweet and lush with no hard edge. It has just the sufficient acidity to keep it from being flabby. It has a little more savouriness than the Chimney. Very good length with full of juicy ripe fruits and leather. No problem to go further.

  • This is more on the rustic side once again but delicately evolved over the 20 years of its sideways time. Damped wood and freshly cut mushrooms to start of and grilled meat, barbecue sauce, Iberico ham a bit further in. Showing more of its fruity and floral side with air and on the palate. Ripe sour red fruit and rose petals. Liquorice, coffee, bonfire and raw chocolate. Tight on the finish indicating even longer ageing potential.
