Last bottle, again an incredibly strong showing with perfect balance between fruit and ripeness, not too heavy, did not even deteriorate much on day 2 so still some reserves left! Love this wine and hope the younger ones will develop similarly

A muscular, fabulous wine. Still young. Surprisingly tannic. Dark red color. Well balanced, concentrated, Rich, Creme de cassis, Developed, but still many years ahead. A pleasure and a guarantee for a wonderful evening.
Opened after Continuum 2011 & Opus One 2007 and - even though quite different in style, for me (once again) the surprise of the night. Impressive structure and lenght for that age, perfect balance, bdx style with some leather and pencil but probably better than any 1997 bordeaux out there...

This has been in my cellar since release and is my last bottle. Decanted at 17.00 and mostly tasted from about 19.00 through 21.00 with some left over for the next day. The wine is a dense nearly opaque dark garnet as a ripe new world Cab should be (as opposed to the purple/black that became popular in “Cult” era of the last 2 decades or so that I hope has now ended...editorial comment that many may disagree) and with no sign of advanced age. The wine was fairly lean and closed when I smelled and tasted it after decanting and still upon first tastes a couple hours later. There was some black fruit and berry along with the expected graphite and and a touch of lavender on the nose and palate but at this point I would have scored it 91-2...but wait...we had a mixed grill of lamb chops veal chops and beef filet mignon around 20.00 (8pm) and when I had my last few bites of lamb with a fresh pour of this, it had transformed and blown up with rich fruit, savory and chocolate flavors. It was quite marvelous. Testimony once again to the benefit of letting older wines breathe and tasting them over a period of several hours. Next morning however the benefit had run its course and while still an attractive wine it was more dried out and astringent. If you have some of this it is lovely now but given this experience my conclusion is that similarly stored bottle will have a continued beneficial life, evolving further over the next half decade or more.
