Tasted at the winery whilst on tour with Tim Syrad Wine Tours.
This vintage is a blend of 52% cabernet sauvignon, 21% malbec and 27% cabernet franc. Nicolas personally oversees the blending and the percentage of varietals will vary, sometimes the cabernet sauvignon is the more predominant. But the back label stays the same, so is not always accurate in terms of varietals. Nicolas is keen on Bordeaux, hence his choice of varietals for this blend.
Dark cherry colour. Complex nose of spice, blackcurrant. The palate is big, full with deep dark berry fruit. This wine shows huge potential, but needs more time..

Aromas of red and black fruits, iodine, green cigar wrapper, a little black pepper and resinous herbs, spring flowers and sweet baking spice... Dense and layered, full but hardly heavy, super fine tannins, deep vegetal and earthy character, vertical and mineral, super long. Worth following 10+ years, if not 20 to 30. Brilliant stuff!

Gorgeous, the Cab Franc really pops here.
