Visits in the Wachau and Kamptal; 10/4/2023-10/5/2023 (In and around the Wachau and Kamptal, Lower Austria): This shows off a linear and fresh quality with green and red apples, saline, crushed rocks, white fruits, elderflower, lemon peels, and white flowers. This shows off good depth and freshness with a real pristine quality. The Medium bodied feel is fresh and balanced with tart, high acidity. The acidity still has a bit of sting while the finsh has a bit of length. This could likely benefit from a few years of aging just to let it all balance out a bit more.

Greenish yellow. Fragrant green herbs and jasmine. Round pear entry that transitions to citrus as the acidity rises, off dry, medium weight. Slate feel. Initial roundness gives way to a leaner, rocky finish. I like the structure compared to other 2022s that we’ve tried. Excellent in a slightly fruitier style.
