  • Popped and poured into decanter and then drank from decanter over time. Bottle had a crumbling cork that had to be filtered from the wine; bottle had some sediment, but not a surprising amount. The color is a nice medium red, with a bit of bricking toward the edges. The nose was very nice, carrying elements of tar, cherries, earthy-mushrooms, and spicy orange peels. The nose was the best trait of this wine. In the mouth this wine is smoothly integrated – it still has some fruit backed by ripe acidity. The finish is short but focused, with a slightly tart edge. Overall, this was an enjoyable wine that evidences the benefits of aging Sangiovese. 93 points.
