Tasted by shellylowen on 2/3/2020 & rated 91 points: Full body, sweet tannins, medium finish. Blackberry (1841 views)
Tasted by shellylowen on 7/21/2019 & rated 91 points: Cedar nose, lots of dark fruit and some cedar, medium body and finish (1924 views)
Tasted by tomoem on 8/8/2018 & rated 90 points: Really terrific for a Cabernet which expected to be mid level. Dark fruit and equally dark colored. Aromas of restrained fruits which are really hard to find. On the palette the wine shines. Dark bing cherry fruit is the immediate note. Mid palette the wine delivers a tomato leaf flavor and bell pepper. The finish is a little closed and dry on the tongue. This seems to have some legs to run further. (2740 views)
Tasted by Mark1npt on 3/16/2018 & rated 90 points: Nice cab for the buck in a bad year no less. No overt green pepper, just nice dark fruit and a great cedar component. Potent now, could go a while longer but I like them like this. (3477 views)
Tasted by Felicia.dejohn on 1/7/2018: Delicious. Notes of green pepper, cherry liqour, black pepper, and smoky leather. Open now for a treat! (3138 views)
Tasted by soychick on 12/25/2017 & rated 90 points: Very enjoyable, dark fruit dominates but not overly forward. A bit one-dimensional though, and starting to lose it’s stuffing. Drink now. (2140 views)
Tasted by Barry Notes on 5/7/2017 & rated 91 points: See Dec, note. Opened up nicely with 45 min glass time.. Rob's. (2969 views)
Tasted by dgcaldwell on 4/22/2017 & rated 90 points: Fragrant nose with notes of currant , medium body, complex palate, very nice spicy medium long finish Perfect balance. Drinking perfectly now. (2324 views)
Tasted by Dan & Patti on 2/20/2017 & rated 94 points: Dark fruit, Med finish, perfect (2283 views)
Tasted by Barry Notes on 12/8/2016 & rated 92 points: PnP, room temp, no decant. Clear, deep purple. Excellent proper cab nose and taste. Exceptional drinking window, med body, nice clean finish. Classic Napa fruit. Ideal balance, nothing off. Good juice at a more than fair price. $27 (2492 views)
Tasted by bitdrerik on 10/7/2016 & rated 91 points: Eðalklúbbur, vínsmakk #2 haust 2016 (Marbakkabraut 12): Meðaldökkt á litinn. (3025 views)
Tasted by DrWal on 9/10/2016 & rated 91 points: Black fruit, cedar, soft tannins, very nice (1679 views)
Tasted by TallMikeWine on 6/12/2016 & rated 92 points: Full Bodied. Intense. Delicious. Not exactly sure where the CellarTracker drinking window comes up with 2017 as the end of the road for this one. IMHO it's just starting to open up, with maybe 5+ years of superb drinking ahead of it. Great fruit, thick almost. Notes of spice, charcoal, vanilla. Just lovely. (2090 views)
Tasted by LEEJV123 on 3/25/2016 & rated 89 points: Full, minerals, earth, off balance (2181 views)
Tasted by Endodr on 3/20/2016 & rated 90 points: This big, bold, Napa Cabernet has a nose of violets, sweet spices, dark fruit, and dusty earth. It tastes juicy and "fruit bombish" with currents, blackberries, bell pepper, and black licorice. It is mouth coating with good acidity, and has a medium to long length finish with well integrated dusty tannins, Well made and nicely balanced; a real crowd pleaser. [Drank alongside Rodney Strong Rockaway 2008 - The Honig Cabernet tastes sweeter, less complex, and less full bodied than the Rockaway - probably secondary to its lesser vintage.] (1876 views)
Tasted by gew71walsh on 2/24/2016 & rated 88 points: Berries on nose and palate. Easy drinking without much complexity, but with muted tannins and in balance. (1950 views)
Tasted by peeno on 1/23/2016 & rated 90 points: Dusty tobacco, chocolate and dark berries. (1968 views)
Tasted by peeno on 10/9/2015 & rated 90 points: A favorite. Ripe mellow fruit bomb at its peak. (2346 views)
Tasted by JS199 on 7/8/2015 & rated 89 points: Plush and big. A simple cabernet with a nice plush mouthfeel. Enjoyable and ready to drink. 89/90 (2613 views)
Tasted by comlaw on 4/4/2015 & rated 89 points: Decanted an hour a quarter before drinking. Initially, good tannin, strong black fruit, not overly complex. 40 minutes later, tannin and fruit were very muted, not much there. Would definitely, not decant that long before drinking. (3042 views)
Tasted by Carsten Madsen on 2/8/2015 & rated 92 points: Black sweet fruit, cherries and raspberry, some oak (3132 views)
Tasted by John McCabe on 1/1/2015 & rated 90 points: Lovely nose of red fruit with some herbal edge. On the palate, its quite appealing but a bit simple; there's more dark fruit and that herbal note again, but everything is a bit muted, tight and drab. I actually quite like this vintage though; feels closer to Bordeaux in style, which suits me. (3317 views)
Tasted by RobbieC on 12/19/2014 & rated 88 points: tasted over two days. A bit young. Slightly sharp and angular with oak really showing. May just need some time. (2973 views)
Tasted by Gestalted on 10/6/2014 & rated 90 points: Fantastic sweet oak and dark berry flavors. Deep and concentrated. Drank at cellar temp.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
