Tasted by d'Artagnan on 4/30/2022 & rated 88 points: Décevant vu le producteur. 87-88 (1097 views)
(1647 views)
Tasted by Palisades57 on 2/25/2021 & rated 90 points: Agree with prior reviews including beeswax, pear and apple. Initially tight and linear with noticeable spearmint that resolves. Overall an interesting village. Will hold my remaining bottles for a few more years. (1339 views)
89+ pts (2123 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 8/6/2020 & rated 92 points: Tung's Birthday (Monkey Year Wines) (Aoki Restaurant, Shaw House, Singapore): Very impressive for a straight village. The nose was still really youthful - with shades of reductiveness and more than a fair share of new oak; but there was a nice Chassagne character beneath that, with notes of yellow pear, some preserved lines, maybe a touch of beeswax, and then some spice and mineral shades. Very nice. The palate was very impressive, with a nice depth and roundness to its honeyed pear and white apple flesh flavours, these wed to a lovely sense of lithe freshness lent to it by lovely lemony acidity and a good streak of mineral that ran from the midpalate all the way into satisfyingly long, creamy finish with just a hint of spiciness. This had really lovely depth and balance for a village Chassagne. Young still - but it will grow up into a really solid wine. I would love to have this again in the next 2-3 years. (2050 views)
Tasted by Philippe_C on 7/12/2020 & rated 92 points: Very high tension and purity, pear, citrus, lychee... Nice refreshing citrus acidity and mineral, very well made but maybe a bit simple... (1597 views)
Tasted by AWBryce on 12/28/2019: Subtle notes of butter, unripe white peaches, some sour apricot; silky, waxy palate, med plus acid, good finish (1068 views)
(1139 views)
Tasted by Oupszutalors on 8/14/2019 & rated 89 points: Very pure Wine on the color and on the nose with white pear flawors very Nice for the beginning of a Nice dinner or with Fish and French goat cheese... A pure and delicate Wine for Wine Reader’s and lovers... drink before 2028 (607 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 10/15/2018: This is an expansive wine with a high degree of elegance. There is some of the Ramonet spearmint showing on the nose. It has pure white peach fruit and excellent balance, with a fine and fresh finish. (1128 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/27/2018: Domaine / Jean-Claude Ramonet Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 4, Visit 4) (Chassagne-Montrachet): Tasting at the domaine. Big step up in richness and concentration vs Bourgogne. I'd like a little more length and finesse, but perhaps that will come with another year or two in the bottle. 87-89 point potential. (1603 views)
89-90 pts (1242 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
