Community Tasting Notes (average 88.8 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 17 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by mdanyc on 12/14/2022 & rated 89 points: Similar impression to the 2015. Versatile, with or without food, works at just about any temperature Glycerine, lemon, roundness. (207 views)
Tasted by Doc90 on 8/26/2022 & rated 90 points: Fresh nose of East coast sea breeze. Pure expression of pineapple. Summer dreams. Prickly pear dances on a toned textural platform. Drink now or hold. Paired with cedar plank salmon. (249 views)
Tasted by MarcEBeaudoin on 7/22/2022: Golden hay coloring; weighty on the palate, still with a searing acidity and focus. I get the pear and yellow citrus notes of some comments. I find a beeswax thing going on too. The fruit gives hints of sweetness, the minerality keeps it beautifully dry. Can definitely taste the Stony soil. Pretty. (258 views)
Tasted by JStanwood on 6/18/2020 & rated 89 points: Grapefruit, tart strawberry, limestone. Hints of tart pear. Dry and crisp with nice complexity. Cellared for three years. (710 views)
Tasted by qrrkeen on 6/14/2020 & rated 88 points: Re. dry/sweet: To my mind it can be either or both depending upon the food pairing and what you hope for it to be. It tasted sweet with bitter greens and tasted dry with a chicken mushroom casserole. The sweetness hits the palate first then transitions to minerality. Its overall purity and fruitiness should compliment certain dishes (e.g. mango chutney chicken). It's not destined to become one of my favorites. (478 views)
Tasted by fingers on 8/27/2019 & rated 91 points: Light straw color with a bright sheen, clear and sound. Yellow citrus, melon, kiwi, peach, and a touch of hay on the medium intensity nose. Generous and proper acidity with medium+ weight on the palate in a perfectly dry level of sweetness. A slate of minerals get revealed on the finish. This is heading in the right direction and probably doesn’t need much more time to reach optimal orbit. 5+12+16+8= 91 (1042 views)
Tasted by fingers on 6/30/2019 & rated 89 points: This is nice and round with a glycerin-laden body that implies sweetness yet stays perfectly dry. Accompanied my carnitas tacos with aplomb. Happy to have a couple more. 4+11+16+8= 89 (866 views)
Tasted by Jake112380 on 6/6/2019 & rated 88 points: More integrated and balanced after a night open in the fridge. (561 views)
Tasted by kronfeld on 5/12/2019: Agree with the “flirting with off-dry” comment, but I thought this was nicely balanced and didn’t notice the sweetness after first sip. (464 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 5/8/2019 & rated 90 points: Drinking really well 30 minutes in. 13% ABV. (483 views)
Tasted by joraesque on 4/11/2019 & rated 89 points: Flirting with almost appearing off-dry. Went great with roasted artichokes. (446 views)
Tasted by LordHighSteward on 2/3/2019 & rated 91 points: Is there such a thing as creamy acidity? Took this little lovely to a Super Bowl party, toward the end of the evening just a small glass had been poured. Most of my friends get excited about big red meat and potato wines. I poured a little taste and Shazam!! Between myself and a friend we consumed the remainder, on top of already inebriated. Funny how good wines rise to the occasion even after you’ve been drinking beer and red wines. Couple of other Cellar Trackers didn’t like it because of “no offsetting acidity.” I thought it was a good example of Chenin Blanc, and I didn’t find it too sweet, as others. (424 views)
Tasted by Jake112380 on 12/29/2018 & rated 87 points: Not sure where people are getting the whole no acid thing. There’s plenty of it here. There’s also a fair amount of sweetness and some decent flavor development. Not sure if I would buy again, but this bottle wasn’t a giant disappointment. (421 views)
Tasted by buffyst on 12/26/2018: Sorry to say that for this vintage I must agree with SABABA1022. Almost cloying. Too bad. (597 views)
Tasted by LordHighSteward on 12/19/2018: 100% chenin blanc. Silex soil. Add tasting notes. (395 views)
Tasted by sababa1022 on 11/18/2018 & rated 83 points: Overly sweet. Lacks offsetting acid. A disappointment. (507 views)
