Tasted by Somm Good Wine on 2/10/2024 & rated 92 points: Tasted along side the 2012. The 2012 was the crowd favorite until the 2007 came out. It was super close. (138 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 10/28/2021: PNP late in dinner when other bottle was finished. Nothing fancy, but solid wine. Fruit is well balanced and there is a little tannin that needs some air (1068 views)
Tasted by chuckos77 on 2/16/2020 & rated 85 points: This has degraded greatly. Disappointing as it was nice wine at one time. Not a wine to cellar. (1784 views)
Tasted by MemorialWineFan on 2/5/2019 & rated 87 points: On the down side for sure. Have not had a Faust that old. It was past it's prime and winding down the other way. Was still excellent. Both of us concurred that it would have been better 2 years ago. Had a little of the going old bitterness, but it was very slight and you needed a trained palate to sense that. (2656 views)
Tasted by StainedGlass on 8/10/2018: This example may be holding up better because of cellaring and the 1.5L format, so the wine was still in the latter part of its drinking window. Similar to my 2013 note, it is a solid upper/mid-level California cab with wide appeal; dark purple with black and plum fruit; rich black fruits with spice notes and now moderate to smooth tannins. I doubt it was really intended for long term cellaring, so I'd drink my 2007s now until 2020. (3216 views)
Tasted by pgrzesik on 8/9/2018 & rated 90 points: Gave this a quick 15 minute decant and it was very expressive with dark fruit, rust, forest floor, and a hint of dried figs. On the palate it is smooth, vibrant, nice texture, but just the length is rather short. I sense this is on the decline now and as others have eluded to. But overall this is still a very pleasant wine for 11 years old. I did not know that Faust produces its wines from the Rutherford AVA and I mentioned that it tastes "dusty" on the palate - and I was right! Faust produces and bottles this cabernet from Rutherford. I think this is a very nice example of a good quality Rutherford AVA and will reward you if you drink it now. Cheers! (3096 views)
Tasted by dougeddie on 3/5/2018 & rated 77 points: On way down...drink now. Really big with lots of tobacco (3206 views)
Tasted by dougeddie on 3/5/2018 & rated 75 points: Need to drink now...on downside. Really big with lots of tabacco. (2464 views)
Tasted by Ranjan on 2/28/2018 & rated 93 points: Awesome can, big fruit, well balanced (1813 views)
Tasted by DDD Wines on 12/7/2017: Was concerned a2007 375 would be past it’s prime but it was delightful. (1653 views)
Tasted by Mr T on 4/29/2017: PNP with many friends and gone fast before symphony
Solid ripe cab (2762 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 4/29/2017 & rated 91 points: Still needs to have some air. Otherwise, as prior notes. (2137 views)
Tasted by Ranjan on 3/31/2017 & rated 94 points: Quintessa grapes, fruit nose, well balanced. (2316 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 3/19/2017 & rated 93 points: Not a big fan of 375s. However, this bottle was very pleasant. Drank on day 2. Dark hues. Very ripe young black and blue fruit, complex, pretty integrated. Suspect the 750s are better. Good finish. Still has legs. (2378 views)
Tasted by samalexis on 2/18/2017 & rated 92 points: Drinking very well! Great wine from an exceptional year. (2373 views)
Tasted by dalemosier on 1/11/2017 & rated 91 points: Mellowed nicely - appears at its peak (1423 views)
Tasted by Cholera on 1/6/2017 & rated 92 points: The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), raisin, toast, cherry and plum. It tastes like dust, stoniness, cherry, plum and coffee. The body is full. The wine has fleshy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
Good bottle of wine tonight, as described above it also has a very chewy and Dense flavor profile, great with heavy pasta
Enjoyed it after 30 min decant. Better after 2 hours (1352 views)
Tasted by Cabernet4me2 on 12/24/2016 & rated 91 points: Was pleasantly surprised. Invited to a Christmas party with mostly non wine drinkers, so decided to grab one of these magnums to see how they were holding up, and have to say was very pleasantly surprised. Not sure if it was due to the size, but showed no green at all, and was ready to go out of the gate. Mostly red and a touch of black fruit. It wasn't mind blowing with any one facet, but was a very pleasurable on entry and mid, and showed a modest finish as well. Paired well with the TriTip and fixin's and was gone in a flash. (Would have rated a 90.5 if i could - but gave it the .5 bump)

Not sure how the 750's are holding up, but if large format, no rush, plenty of time left and for the price of admission, very happy about this QPR (1574 views)
Tasted by Tarpon222 on 9/19/2016 & rated 89 points: Nice drink but nothing special as I remember a previous bottle (1740 views)
Tasted by Racer117 on 9/14/2016 & rated 88 points: Not very promising on 1st night as all I got was green and tannins. Much better on night 2 but I still can't quite gush on about this wine like I did in the past. Not overly fruity with some berry, plum and cassis. The green edge on the first night has turned into a nice sweet mint note. Touch of wood as well. (1482 views)
Tasted by dalemosier on 4/23/2016 & rated 91 points: FULL BODIED, NICE FRUIT, good lingering taste. Don't know if imiprove, but seems able to last more years at this peak. (2249 views)
Tasted by Thirsty1 on 4/17/2016: In the almost 3 years since my last bottle this has come full circle. Very well integrated - dark purple and showing no age. Secondary notes all there, dried dark fruit, earthy with good fruit complimenting the soft tannin. Mid weight wine. Very good and I believe at it's apex. I don't think this is on the way up. I think this roller coaster is just getting to the top before the long drop down. (2270 views)
Tasted by TashNYC on 3/28/2016 & rated 91 points: Theae were delicious, but they are all gone, now. (2335 views)
Tasted by Gustavo Brambila on 2/21/2016 & rated 90 points: Nose is beautiful but it's time to drink up (2101 views)
Tasted by dalemosier on 12/22/2015 & rated 89 points: nice lingering finish, limited nose, mellow tanin, lacked complexity. don't think it will get any better. (2183 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
