| Community Tasting Notes (average 89.6 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 8 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Jimmy_D on 11/19/2017 & rated 92 points: Meerea Park Benchmarking Masterclass - 19 November 2017 (Meerea Park Cellar Door): The most interesting nose of semillons in the line-up today, racy lime. The colour is still surprisingly pale though, no signs of much age as yet. Perfect line and length, clean and dry. Many of the ‘11 semillons I’ve tried seem to be slow burners… this hasn’t built out much body as yet, still drinking fairly primary. Quite forward, scarily so under screw cap. (1906 views) | | Tasted by graemeg on 2/15/2013: 2013 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting & Trophy Wines Lunch (homebush & Darling Harbour): [Bronze medal] {screwcap, 11.5%} Youthful. Grass, wax and a touch of apple on the nose. Great flavour presence along the tongue; lemon/butter flavours with a touch of curd give it surprising weight of flavour – enough to qualify as medium-bodied. The long, dry finish has almost a smokey aspect to it; not in an unpleasant way. Very good, seems to be developing quite quickly. (3890 views) | | Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 1/14/2013 & rated 92 points: Light lemon yellow color; appealing, lightly savory, mineral, tart lemon nose; tart lemon, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (762 views) | | Tasted by graemeg on 2/17/2012: 2012 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting (Olympic Park, Homebush): Bronze medal. {screwcap, 11.5%} Youthful, notes of grass & straw. Right on the money. Light body, medium acid. Juicy grass and lemon fruit flavours, discreet acid, slightly chalky and totally dry texture. Medium-length finish. Should blossom beautifully over 10 years. (4490 views) |
| Andrew Thomas Wines Producer websiteBraemoreThe Braemore vineyard, situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, consistently produces outstanding semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. This is a traditional Hunter Valley style exhibiting delicate lemon and lime fruit characters intermingled with an attractive grassy complexity, and is supported by a zesty, citrus-like acidity providing a pleasing purity and freshness to the finish. Braemore vineyard is one of the Hunter Valley's most awarded vineyards. On weinlagen-info
