Tasted by graemeg on 3/29/2020: {screwcap, 10.2%} I’ve been critical and sceptical in the past of the longevity of this bottling, I must say. No older Braemore I’d tasted ever really hit the magic button. This is pretty special though. It’s barely a mid-yellow colour. The nose is hardly developed, with a little sweet lime, cut grass, and a fresh vivid spring water character. All at twelve years of age;it’s quite remarkable. This could be a wine from Lothlorien; it’s elvish all the way through. The palate is subtle and promises much; it tastes of citrus and hints of smoke, with soft acid carrying everything and giving it an even smooth character to the palate. There are also the typical Hunter hallmarks of straw and citrus; it’s around light/medium body, but also with great intensity, and has a crunchy sort of dry finish, medium/long on the palate. Five years easy, possibly longer. Really special wine, this. (352 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 5/18/2015 & rated 89 points: Vinosphere Tasting: Just starting to take on some age but still in its youth. Ginger snaps, toast and lemon. Fine palate, has nice length. Very good for a troublesome vintage. (1446 views)
Tasted by graemeg on 4/1/2015: {screwcap} Bilgey, vegetal aromas, smokey nose of rotten vegetables. Doesn’t seem like they got all this in before the 2008 rains. Low acidity and a short finish. Air was no help. On the downslope in my opinion. (978 views)
Tasted by chatters on 3/21/2015: Prince - Hunter Sems old and young (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): aromas of honey, toast, cream, butter and apple. In the mouth the wine has flavours of honey and toast initially but then gets quite sour with mid palate furring that is a little grainy in texture. Having said that the honey notes persists long on the palate. Hmm. (1267 views)
Tasted by graemeg on 2/15/2013: 2013 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting & Trophy Wines Lunch (homebush & Darling Harbour): [Silver medal] {screwcap} Edgy nose of matchstick, straw wax. Nicely developing fruits on the palate; lemon, apple flavours. It’s medium weight and has a persistent finish; wants just a little more time to reach maturity. Tidy wine indeed. (2320 views)
Tasted by jeff-forrest on 6/28/2009 & rated 90 points: Apple and citrus flavours, with strong acidity and a slight sourness on the mid palate. (1721 views)

Braemore

The Braemore vineyard, situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, consistently produces outstanding semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. This is a traditional Hunter Valley style exhibiting delicate lemon and lime fruit characters intermingled with an attractive grassy complexity, and is supported by a zesty, citrus-like acidity providing a pleasing purity and freshness to the finish. Braemore vineyard is one of the Hunter Valley's most awarded vineyards.
