Tasted by PaulusLoZebra on 8/14/2017 & rated 88 points: Typical BIG Juveniles nose right out of the first pour, this is a big, intense, primal Rhone-style wine with tremendous fragrances and flavors, and surprising complexity, (vote 92 so far) but marred by too much alcohol throughout, not just at the finish, (84 on this point), thus my vote of 88 overall. Better on night two. (1357 views)
Tasted by Angle Gold on 5/13/2017 & rated 88 points: Very meaty. (1267 views)
Tasted by EPiry on 11/2/2016 & rated 90 points: Spicy, black fruit, black cherries, clove, cinnamon
Light after flavour. Hints of tabaco

Tasted by jayrod on 8/15/2015 & rated 90 points: Wine was singing in the glass, a little time has paid dividends with this wine, Look forward to drinking the last two over the next couple of years. (2280 views)
Tasted by GregIvetteDrink on 2/26/2015 & rated 51 points: Crap, wasted money. Poured down the drain. (2531 views)
Tasted by *Vine* on 2/22/2015: Unscrewed and poured. Dark garnet, slightly hazy. Pronounced aromatics evoke olive brine, black pepper, mesquite wood, olive tapenade, smoked ham, chopped parsley, strawberry...just a ton going on here. Medium body. Although the briny/olive note remains noticeable, there's far more fruit on the palate...think blackberry, black cherry and other dark fruits along with more smoked meats and a hint of pipe tobacco.
This would almost be a dead wringer for a great Crozes-Hermitage if not for those sweet, Aussie tannins. Regardless, a vibrant wine, so fresh & pure on the lengthy close. No reason to wait on this one, enjoy now.
Clearly, Torbreck remains one of the QPR-leaders of the world. (1604 views)
Tasted by Dmiller3 on 2/18/2015 & rated 83 points: Consumed a bottle last few days - initial impression was decent, but ended up a bit bitter - not really smooth at all. Vi assume that was a combination of both the wine making, as well as the blending, especially the mataro, which is a grape that I am not too familiar with. (1535 views)
Tasted by SeattlePaul on 2/13/2015 & rated 89 points: Big red and blue fruits, reminds me of Moolydooker Blue Eyed Boy in that way (initial big fruit hit). Grenache pepper notes, but not in any way offensive. (748 views)
Tasted by dpolivy on 2/13/2015 & rated 89 points: Vindredi (Barcode (Bellevue, WA)): Big and spicy nose filled with red fruit. Soft and elegant, with sweet red fruit and black pepper. Finishes a bit hot. (1652 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 9/4/2014 & rated 91 points: Exceptional GSM. Lots of dark and red fruit...tad bit of smoke and peppery spice...luscious..elegant. 15% alcohol, but is well-integrated. Slightly more robust than medium-bodied, but well-balanced. The Grenache (62%) is clearly dominant-which works. The 23% Mataro (AKA Mouvedre) and 15% Shiraz give it a little bit of heft, without outshining the spectacular Grenache flavors. Well worth the $20 or so we paid. Drinking perfectly now, not a wine for aging. (1022 views)
Tasted by tzelmer on 8/16/2014 & rated 88 points: Red fruits, black pepper, leather, roasted red meat. Quite good, a little hot. (997 views)
Tasted by Mbressack on 7/30/2014 & rated 90 points: Lots of spice and pepper. The palate has good red fruit and medium body. Very good particularly with meat. (1023 views)
Tasted by richshoes on 2/23/2014 & rated 91 points: a nice light to medium bodied wine with an elegant, well-balanced structure and good tannins. cherry, raspberry and nice accents of pepper and spice about 1/3 to half way through the palate. 62% grenache, 23% mataro, and 15% shiraz. wine maker--David Powell, Barossa Valley. (1396 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 5/9/2013 & rated 89 points: Torbreck Tasting (North Sydney Cellars): 62% Grenache, 23% Shiraz & 15% Mataro. Pepper, violets and some meaty elements - I found the nose to have good interest, especially at this level. The palate continues the trend towards spice influence with restrained red fruit and medium length. Very good, and a pleasant experience after some much less appealing examples in previous vintages. Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
