Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 3/16/2023: 89,90,91 or 92 this is a very pleasurable wine. Strong Grenache notes. Perfect with a lamb daube. Need to get more (391 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 12/17/2022 & rated 91 points: Hitting on all cylinders, freshness, complexity, balance, finish, the range of food matches and price. (399 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 12/6/2022 & rated 91 points: The Grenache is vivid in the nose but there is much more complexity behind it. So supple and balanced in the mouth this is a dangerous wine that is so easy to drink too much. Love this fresh style the GSM answer to Beaujolais. (407 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 9/13/2022: '19 and '20 were very small vintages. Dakr fruit, with the mint character, savory, juicy and fresh. A porch panda and real cracking wine." That bursting wine and semi-carbo. This guy is on fire with descriptions. (592 views)
Tasted by Blancalikesreds on 8/22/2022: Delicious (409 views)
Tasted by quaffnov on 7/30/2022 & rated 93 points: Hour decant, this is as good a QPR as you will find, this represents more like a $75 bottle than a $20 bottle, with a nuanced nose and palate filled with red fruit and vanilla. Racy acidity and structured tannins weave a mouthfeel that has real finesse in its delivery. (200 views)
Tasted by Josch48 on 1/28/2022 & rated 90 points: New addition to our primary local Maine wine store. A standard blend (constituent component percentages not withstanding) GSM with Grenache 66%, Mataro (Australian wine makers sometimes call Grenache) 23%, and Shiraz 10%.
Clear, dark black cherry color, with initial blue/black fruit along with the interesting addition of Bordeaux “barnyard” (Brett) in the nose. The Grenache soft and fragrant fruit is prevalent on the palate in the blend, with the Mataro earthy “farmyard” flavors, and the Shiraz density, spiciness and structure both well integrated in a medium-light mouthfeel, clean and racy, with adequate acidity and almost nonexistent tannins.
This well made wine is at once unidimensional in its light yet luscious and vibrantly sweet fruit delivery, but the blend coconspirators appear mid palate and claim their individualistic identities while riding off into the soft and vanilla tinted, along with a wisp of citrus on the finish, in a 3 Amigos phalanx formation.
This wine is delicious and far too easy to drink. Odds are the bottle will be finished before you notice. (617 views)
Tasted by GAT on 12/3/2021 & rated 92 points: Very, very enjoyable. (379 views)
Tasted by Winderie on 1/12/2020 & rated 91 points: Almost as good as claymores GSM. Great with red meat. Nice and full bodied with a touch of Grenache dryness. (835 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
