Tasted by SkyeBlue on 12/31/2014 & rated 90 points: Delicious and well worth the wait of cellaring! (2969 views)
Tasted by JeffE27 on 12/17/2012 & rated 88 points: Earthy Black Cherry very drinkable (4289 views)
Tasted by Battleship on 8/30/2010 & rated 92 points: Decanted for 1 hour and consumed over 2 hours this was anticipated to stand up against my smoked ribs and did not disappoint. Great nose and heft to compliment the BBQ, but the best part was the lush raspberry liquor on the finish. WOW! (5795 views)
Tasted by Normones on 5/24/2010 & rated 88 points: Interesting mix of aussie deep fruit and a some char, funky earth. This is not for everyone becuase that mushroomy funk is pronounced. I enjoyed - for $17 it may be a tad high. (6161 views)
Tasted by tplskylrk on 4/17/2010 & rated 88 points: Saigon Park Hyatt. - Fairly deep purple, but translucent.Tried this a month back and bottle was off. This one has the faintest funk. Smokey oak. Eucolytus? Some kinda spoiled fruit, Passion? Yogurt
strawberry shake? Weird, but no in an attractive way.

Nice palate, and floats across m f b finish is nice but lays down in the mid. Light on it's feet. Smoke, licorice, sweet blackish fruit. That give way to oak charred raspberries. Acid, oak, fruit all working. Kinda growing on me.

Two nights earlier I had sent a glass back due to it being off, which is a problem I have had before with entry level Torbreck. (6232 views)
Tasted by Arch57 on 4/11/2010 & rated 82 points: Hmmm, the name Juveniles says it all, this wine is sweet and fit for juveniles. I was hoping this was not a fruit-bomb and would have something beside raspberry kool-aid but that was not the case. The color was a cloudy dark red, not much of a nose at all despite vigorous swirling. I kind of expected this wine to taste like this. (3998 views)
Tasted by vinojava on 3/13/2010 & rated 90 points: Floral, laundry nose, but in a good way. Very smooth with plum, leather and tobacco. (3222 views)
Tasted by pavel_p on 3/1/2010 & rated 89 points: Interesting, fruity GSM with nice structure (2472 views)
Tasted by joshwoodward on 1/23/2010 & rated 90 points: Churchill's: Aussie (Maumee, OH): Muted black fruit nose. Slightly raisined. Juicy. Light tannins, medium- acidity, big body. Elegant for the style. $23 (3281 views)
Tasted by Papies on 1/6/2010 & rated 85 points: Far too sweet, overpowering & artificial, fake nose. Difficult wine to say the least and not one i will look to buy again (3049 views)
Tasted by Battleship on 11/7/2009 & rated 92 points: Give them air if drinking now and it will reward in a diverse, but punchy style. When in the mood it satisfies (3137 views)
Tasted by pgm on 5/23/2009 & rated 89 points: Notes pretty much as before, though the enjoyment was up a tick: very pure grenache profile, with strawberry and raspberry, a little darker fruit lurking in there. Very well done and good value if you find it priced right. (3454 views)
Tasted by Battleship on 4/9/2009 & rated 91 points: Outstadning QPR! Very sophisitcated tasting like a mid-tier southern Rhone blend. Give it at least an hour of decant and then hold on for a very nice ride! I will buy more for near term and bury a few to see what they will turn into in a few years - I think it has some (3-5 years) cellaring potential. (3533 views)
Tasted by DancingDavidE on 3/4/2009 & rated 90 points: Great finish, black fruits, strange - but a little apple on the finish? Highly recommend this wine. (3645 views)
Tasted by ihavezinned on 2/21/2009 & rated 89 points: nose of barnyard, earth, stewed plums. very soft in the mouth, with very light tannins and black fruit flavors and spice. (3748 views)
Tasted by pgm on 1/27/2009 & rated 88 points: I thought this was better than most of the other notes suggest. Not that it's going to win out in blind tastings with top-notch CdPs, but it would do great in a line-up of Aussie GSMs, sub-$40 CdPs, and any Cotes du Rhones. It features nice strawberry-raspberry grenache notes, soft and easy drinking, and has a nice balance through the palate and the finish. Good value at <$20. (3594 views)
Tasted by kstoddard on 10/11/2008 & rated 85 points: Fall Gala Tasting Event (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix): Blackberry, charcoal and mint. Very ripe. Fruit forward. (5276 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 10/11/2008: difficult to embrace. utterly forgetable, once you've gotten over the stomach cramps. (3853 views)
Tasted by alliesteve on 9/5/2008 & rated 85 points: Nose was a little stale and disappointing. Did not have the upfront fruit I expected. A disappointment. (3690 views)
Tasted by amateurwino on 6/30/2008: Tasted at cellar door. A GSM blend that goes into stainless steel; the Steading is the same wine aged in oak. (3833 views)
Tasted by Seanr7 on 5/28/2008 & rated 90 points: Very dark purple in the glass, the nose is very earthy with some nice blackberry. In the mouth this wine has plenty going on from the dark fruits to spice with a bit of an earthy note as well. Again this is more of an old world wine that is ready to drink, I think this is a "Grip and Rip" wine and is good to go now. (4302 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
