Tasted by ssspore on 4/8/2014 & rated 88 points: Had this after tin man so it had no chance. Tobacco on the nose. Some acidity. Weak finish. Single note. (898 views)
Tasted by rickv2wine on 2/3/2014 & rated 90 points: Has the nose of an older more mature wine. Body is full of mature fruit and oak with some heat to body. Not sure age will benefit this wine but will age gracefully from here. Drink over next 3-4 years. (1079 views)
Tasted by monk1019 on 7/24/2013 & rated 89 points: A gift from 5 yrs ago, shared with friends along with cheese. Aired for 1 hr, sufficient. Full, rich and velvety. Cassis, vanilla and tobacco ruled the palate. Long finish. Hated it to end! (1536 views)
Tasted by cbkamp on 8/28/2012 & rated 89 points: Clean mix of cassis and black cherry with nice minerality, tobacco, graphite, and mixed spices. On the palate, nice balance with good acidity and soft tannins. Black cherry with mocha on the finish. Definitely good now. (2522 views)
Tasted by TheBigD52 on 3/28/2012: dark fruit on the nose, deep dark purple color, drinking great. nice finish of dark fruit, including cherries and blavkberries. (2092 views)
Tasted by Mel-o-Vino on 8/7/2011 & rated 91 points: Drinking fantastic now! No need for decanting. Dark fruit on the nose....changes to earth/slightly gamey/fruit on the palate and then a beautiful finish of blackberries and sweet tobacco. (2425 views)
Tasted by turkbzerk on 11/26/2010 & rated 90 points: Great big nose! Deep Dark Purple, exploding with fruit. Let it sit for about an hour, had with Thanksgiving dinner..really nice bottle. (2728 views)
Tasted by KeithAkers on 7/15/2010 & rated 90 points: LVMH at Binny's (Binny's Lincoln Park, Chicago IL): nose: balanced nose of black currants, oak tones, black cherries, dark red fruits, red currants and berry tones

taste: full bodied and well balanced tones of black currants, oak tones, dark red fruits and some red currants. Good supporting tannins that don't get in the way too much

overall: a very good and straightforward cab. Well balanced on both the nose and palate and perfectly fine right now (2238 views)
Tasted by bhornby on 5/16/2010 & rated 92 points: Great stuff - complex, not as backward as previous Newton Cab I have had - drinking well now. (2216 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 1/5/2010 & rated 88 points: Good color, weak nose. Well rounded but short. Not as much varietal sense as the Newton Unfiltered Merlot. (2384 views)

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in over 100 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
