Les Nomades Chicago

David put this dinner on to follow up on some of his other themes. He went to several friends and we all surprised him with the depth of vintages for this tasting. We poured all of the older wines first and then feasted on the younger wines. I did not really score many of the wines as it just was a joy to be able to share and drink with friends.
Canapes
Wild Mushroom Soup, morel mushroom, potato and white truffle froth.
Roasted Squab Breast, apple, farro and sherry gastrique.
Rack of Lamb Loin, Chanterelle mushrooms, English Peas, lardons and basil jus.
Artisian cheeses
Cherry Apricot Frangipane Tart, almond nougatine and vanilla bean ice cream
All in all this was an outstanding display of Haut Brion and a great wine to be had at any time, except maybe the 1989. Hold on to that baby.
1996 Jacquesson & Fils Champagne Extra Brut 93 Points
France, Champagne
Very good start for the evening. Full on the palate with some crispness.
