  • 2009 Sarah's Vineyard Pinot Gris 88 Points

    USA, California, Santa Cruz Mountains

Nose is a bit closed, some white flowers. Crisp, dry palate, nice pear flavors and great acidity. Pinot Gris character doesn't stand out, but this is tasty and refreshing.

  • 2007 Sarah's Vineyard Chardonnay Estate 86 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Clara Valley

Distinctive nose of apple pie, especially the crust. More apple pie flavors on the palate along with some vanilla. Interesting and unique chard, but the acidity is much too low for my taste.

  • 2007 Sarah's Vineyard Pinot Noir Estate 88 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Clara Valley

Cherries and raspberries on the nose. Soft cherry fruit on the palate, adequate acidity, obvious oak influence and some light tannins. Needs time for oak to integrate and seems likely to improve.

  • 2007 Sarah's Vineyard Zinfandel Zayante Vineyard 88 Points

    USA, California, Santa Cruz Mountains

Big jammy nose of dark berries and chocolate make this easily identifiable as a zinfandel. However, the palate is a pleasant surprise, medium-bodied with bright red fruit that's not at all overextracted. This tastes fresh and juicy and there's adequate acidity to balance. I'm not usually a zin fan but I really like this cool climate expression.

  • 2006 Sarah's Vineyard Sangiovese Machado Creek Vineyard 85 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Clara Valley

Strange nose of savory cherry cough syrup. Ripe cherry fruit on the palate with sweet tannins, definitely a new world sangiovese.
