Introduction
A tasting of Oregon Pinot Noirs from the 2008 vintage priced from $15-$35. Overall, I was quite disappointed. If this is representative of the quality from Oregon pinot noir, I'm not planning on buying any. The majority of the wines were insipid but quaffable. Occasionally a wine had genuine interest, but still never reached any level of greatness.
2008 A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir 82 Points

A blend of grapes throughout the region. Nose has nice sweet red fruits of raspberry. Subtle, simple, good.

2008 Cooper Mountain Vineyards Pinot Noir Reserve 83 Points

Nose has some slight fig-notes. Unbalanced. A bit cognac-like blowsy palate. Too alcoholic.

2008 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir 86 Points

Lighter in color than the others. Some cranberry and respberry, has some oaky sweetness. Good nose, balanced palate, good acidity. Would probably go well with food. Very good. 85-86.
